Supreme Court Rejects Final Trump Bid to Reverse 2020 Election

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected a bid by former President Donald Trump to nullify his election loss in Wisconsin, rejecting the last remaining appeal seeking to overturn Joe Biden’s victory.
In an unsigned order, the justices declined to take up Trump’s lawsuit alleging Wisconsin election officials violated the Constitution by expanding absentee voting amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Separately the high court also rejected an appeal by Lin Wood, a pro-Trump attorney who sought to block the Jan. 5 Georgia U.S. Senate runoff elections, eventually won by two Democrats.
As is their custom, the justices did not explain their rationale for rejecting the cases.
The rebuff came without comment or published dissent. It follows the court’s Feb. 22 rejection of a group of appeals that sought to reverse Biden’s win in Wisconsin and four other states.
A federal appeals court panel consisting of three Republican appointees previously rejected the challenge, with Trump-appointed U.S. Circuit Judge Michael Scudder writing the opinion.
The cases are Trump v. Wisconsin Elections Commission, No.- 20883, and In Re Lin Wood, No.-20-887.
