Michigan’s 9th Congressional District

A human rights activist, newly elected Representative Andy Levin has been advocating for working families since the 1980s. Now he brings his fight to Washington. Watch him as he navigates his first day as a member of the 116th Congress.

At the beginning of each new Congress, the new members are sworn into office, the Speaker of the House is chosen, the House Rules are adopted and there are numerous other first day agenda items to complete.
