Representative Torres Small grew up in the New Mexico desert and brings her extensive knowledge of local governments, farmers, developers, and conservationists to the House. She’s a rising star and a new member to watch in the 116th Congress.
At the beginning of each new Congress, the new members are sworn into office, the Speaker of the House is chosen, the House Rules are adopted and there are numerous other first day agenda items to complete.
