Palmer Elected to Second Term as Republican Policy Committee Chairman
WASHINGTON – Rep. Gary Palmer has been elected chairman of the Republican Policy Committee for the 117th Congress.
This is the Alabama Republican’s second consecutive term as chairman, his having held the post in the 116th Congress.
“I’m grateful to my colleagues for their support and look forward to serving them in this role again,” Palmer said.
“Problem solving and practical solutions have always been the strength of the Republican Party, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue to make the RPC a reliable resource on a broad range of issues for the House Republican Conference,” he said.
Palmer said going forward, he’s committed to continuing to operate the committee “as a dependable in-house think tank for House Republicans.”
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve our conference once again as part of our leadership team, and to collaborate with all our colleagues as we work together to advance sensible policy ideas that benefit all Americans,” he said.
The Republican Policy Committee was established in 1949. It serves as an advisory committee to House Republicans and provides them a forum for discussion of policy ideas and current legislation before the House.
