DES MOINES, Iowa — The Republican Party of Iowa has announced the official allocation of its 40 delegates based on the results of its Jan. 15 caucuses.

Former President Donald Trump, who won in 98 of Iowa’s 99 counties, has been awarded 20 delegates, while second place winner Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will get nine.

Former U.N. ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley garnered eight delegates, while Vivek Ramaswamy got three. DeSantis and Ramaswamy have since dropped out of the race.

Following its 2024 caucuses, the Republican Party of Iowa is releasing the official allocation of the 40 Iowa delegates to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

According to the Republican Party of Iowa’s bylaws, Iowa’s delegates to the 2024 Republican National Convention are proportionally allocated based on the results of the Iowa caucuses’ presidential preference poll.

In situations involving fractional results, proportional delegate allocation for each candidate is rounded to the nearest whole delegate.

Under party rules, delegates will remain bound to candidates on the first ballot even if they have dropped out of the presidential race, as is already the case with DeSantis and Ramaswamy.

In the event that only one candidate’s name is placed in nomination at the Republican National Convention, however, all of Iowa’s delegates will be bound to support that candidate, the state committee said.
