Energy Department Seeks Applicants for Biofuel Funds

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Energy is still seeking applicants to share in $59 million aimed at accelerating the production of biofuels and bioproducts in rural America.
Applicants interested in taking advantage of the funding opportunity, entitled the Scale-Up of Integrated Biorefineries, must submit their concept papers by 5 p.m. Eastern time on July 8 to be eligible to submit a full application.
The department is focused on applied research, development, and demonstration to improve the performance and reduce the cost of biofuel production technologies and scale-up production systems in partnership with industry.
By reducing costs and technical risks, these efforts can help pave the way for the biofuels industry to deploy commercial-scale integrated biorefineries.
To apply, applicants must register with and submit application materials through a DOE online application portal at EERE Exchange. The full application due date for this opportunity is Sept. 9, 2022, at 5 p.m. Eastern time.
