NYC Looks to Amend Law on Communicable Diseases and Mandatory Confinement
This month Assemblyman Joseph Giglio, R-Gowanda, introduced A.10562, a bill that would amend the state Public Health Law that mandates involuntary confinement of those with a communicable disease or suspected of having a communicable disease.
“This act would ensure that no governmental actor can involuntarily confine patients through executive action or other means in contravention of these statutory procedures and protections,” said Giglio in a written statement.
