Kate Michael is a writer/reporter based in Washington, D.C. In her early career, she worked as a policy analyst for members of both the U.S. House and U.S. Senate as well as the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions. After completing an M.A. in Government from Johns Hopkins University, she left Capitol Hill and accepted an appointment to create a Green Collar Jobs program for the government of the District of Columbia.
