About Maria:

Miami is where Maria Elvira was born and raised, where she attended college, and started her career as a journalist. Each time Maria Elvira was forced to leave, either to further her studies or attend a news reporting assignment, she would look forward to returning home to Miami. Miami is also where Maria Elvira’s daughters were born and where she chose to raise them. It is where her mother lives, where her roots are securely planted, and ultimately, where she finds her peace. Miami, is and always be, Maria Elvira’s home.

After graduating the University of Miami with a B.A. in Communications, Maria Elvira acquired a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
