WA-08: Kim Schrier (D)
Kim Schrier is honored to represent Washington’s 8th Congressional District and is running for reelection to represent the district which includes much of King, Pierce, Snohomish, Kittitas and Chelan Counties, and portions of Douglas County.
Schrier is a pediatrician, a wife, and a mom with deep roots in her community. Prior to being elected to Congress, she spent 17 years as a pediatrician listening to and helping solve problems with thousands of patients and their families across the 8th District.
Schrier was first inspired to pursue a career in health care when she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 16, and since then has known firsthand what it means to worry about health insurance and rising prescription drug costs.
When Schrier first ran for Congress, she promised to be an independent and effective voice for the people of Washington’s 8th Congressional District — someone willing to work with both parties to deliver real results that matter. And that’s exactly what she’s done. She has worked to get bills passed into law that actually bring down the cost of prescription drugs, like insulin. She’s worked to make sure the Yakima Valley has water for fish, for farmers, and everyone else.
Schrier held the Biden administration accountable to make sure more veterans are getting the quality health care they earned — and deserve. And she is working to find real solutions to the supply chain backups and rising prices.
Schrier is the first pediatrician and the only abortion-rights woman doctor in Congress. She will always stand up to protect a woman’s right to choose.
