NY-25: Joe Morelle (D)
Morelle believes the most important investment we can make in our community is to invest in the people who call it home. As a former small business owner, he understands what it takes to build an economy that works for working people. That is why he is fighting to expand access to child care for working families, increase the availability of affordable housing, strengthen workforce training programs, and support the needs of our community’s businesses.
Every day Morelle goes to work fighting to protect and advance community values and stand up to those who seek to erode them. In Washington, Morelle has helped lead the charge to combat the effects of climate change, he is working tirelessly to keep neighborhoods safe and enact common sense gun reform measures, he remains committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose, and he will continue to fight for the equal rights of all people who call the U.S. home.
Expanding access to health care and lowering costs remains one of Morelle’s top priorities. In Congress, he has helped lead efforts to end surprise medical billing, lower the cost of prescription drugs, and maintain critical protections for people with preexisting conditions. And he will continue to fight back against Republican efforts dismantle the Affordable Care Act.
