IN-01: Frank Mrvan (D)
Frank and his wife Jane live in Lake County, where they met in high school and have been together ever since. They have two daughters, Genevieve and Scarlett. Frank is currently serving in his first term in Congress on behalf of the people of Northwest Indiana where he’s fighting to protect access to health care, working families and the steel industry in the region. Frank is inspired by his dad’s longtime service in the Indiana State Senate.
After winning his election in November 2020, Frank was selected to serve as the co-chairman of the Congressional Steel Caucus before he was even sworn into office.
One of his first votes was to support the American Rescue Plan. He understood that this legislation was necessary to get past the pandemic, to reopen our economy, provide schools and first responders with the resources they needed, and that it established a national vaccination plan, which led to the federal vaccination site in the city of Gary.
Before running for congress, Frank was the North Township trustee for 15 years, and through his time in the trustee office he learned the value of being a trusted resource and how to help people when they hit a bump in the road.
