CA-26: Matt Jacobs (R)
Matt Jacobs is the grandson of a World War II veteran and two Holocaust survivors who came to this country as refugees.
He pursued a career as a federal prosecutor, where he investigated and prosecuted some of America’s worst enemies and most dangerous criminals – including al-Qaeda terrorists, child sex traffickers, mafia bosses, street gang members, opioid traffickers and many others. For this, he earned “Prosecutor of the Year” and “True American Hero” awards from national law enforcement organizations.
Born and raised in Ventura County, he attended Conejo Valley public schools and was valedictorian of his Thousand Oaks High School class. He went to UCLA on an academic scholarship (graduating in the top 1% of his class) before earning a master’s degree in public affairs from Princeton and a law degree from NYU.
He learned the importance of service from his mom, a third-grade teacher. He learned the value of hard work watching his dad build a small business from scratch.
He and his wife Julie are the parents of Benjamin, Alexander, and Abigail. They live in Westlake Village.
