Telcos Turn To AI for Network Performance Monitoring, Survey Says
The deployment of artificial intelligence is of top priority for Communication Service Providers to monitor their networks and drive down operational costs, according to an independent study released by Anodot Thursday.
The global study, commissioned by the business monitoring company, found as much as 67% of the CSPs respondents have already deployed AI in their 4G networks instead of waiting for the next generation 5G network deployments. Fifty-three percent of these pointed to improving customer experience as the key factor for deploying AI-based solutions that monitor how their networks are performing and detect any network degradations that could hinder the user experience and cause them to switch to another provider.
“With AI-based network monitoring, CSPs can detect network issues up to 80% faster and reduce incident costs by as much as 70%,” said Anodot co-founder and CEO David Drai.
For those CSPs that have not yet deployed AI in their networks, more than 50% plan on doing so in the next six to 24 months. But it seems that 42% of CSPs note a lack of existing integration tools for AI and data as the main hurdle preventing them from performing comprehensive network monitoring and detection, which is where companies like Anodot come in.
“We collect all data types, at any scale, and use AI/ML to correlate anomalies across the entire telco stack.
