Peterson Foundation Launches ‘2020 Voters’ Fiscal Guide

The Peter G. Peterson Foundation launched an online hub on Tuesday to provide voters with everything they “need to know about the United States’ $23 trillion national debt,” and why it matters for the 2020 campaign.
The foundation has long been dedicated to addressing economic and fiscal “sustainability challenges that threaten America’s future.”
The new 2020 Voters’ Fiscal Guide features a downloadable resource that explains key drivers of the national debt and its economic impact.
The rest of the site provides in-depth, non-partisan and fact-based resources on a variety of issues including economic inequality, health care, taxes and investments in our future.
As the organization explains on its website, “Debt matters because it’s the one issue that impacts all others.”
“This year, we’ll spend more than $1 billion every day on interest alone. That burden makes it harder to tackle big issues like climate change, infrastructure or national security. And the rising debt threatens economic opportunities for every American,” it says.
