Katelyn Sims
Katelyn Sims is a senior at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, pursuing a social science degree in civic leadership and public policy, global studies, with a minor in strategic communication. While at university, she has served as a prominent member of the Student Speaker Bureau debate team, and recently concluded her tenure as team captain.
From her education and debate background, Sims has fostered an interest in foreign policy and international relations. She hopes to apply her experience toward a profession in that field as an avid writer and policy analyst.
As for her work experience, Sims has served as a university writing tutor, marketing coordinator and journalist for Brownwood News, as well as the author of her column “The Truth Will Set You Free.” Sims is eager to experience working in Washington with TWN, to expand her horizons and network for the professional trajectory of her future.
