WASHINGTON — An independent nonprofit will hold a briefing in the Rayburn House Office Building on March 9, on the funding available through the Inflation Reduction and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Acts to help mitigate climate change and strengthen critical infrastructure.

The Washington-based Environmental and Energy Study Institute has been holding a series of Climate Camps on the Hill since the start of the 118th Congress.

The upcoming session will be held from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Rayburn building, which is located at 45 Independence Ave SW.

While the event is free and open to the public, those wishing to attend in person are encouraged to RSVP to expedite their check-in. The session will also be webcast at www.eesi.org/livecast.

During the session, panelists will provide an update on the acts’ respective implementation, describe how state and local governments and organizations are accessing funds, and explain the oversight role Congress must play to maximize these investments.

The speakers will include Dr. Henry McKoy, Jr., director of the Office of State and Community Energy Programs at the U.S. Department of Energy; David Terry, president of the National Association of State Energy Officials; Sarah Kline, a consultant with the Bipartisan Policy Center; Kevin Rennert, fellow and director of the federal Climate Policy Initiative; Duanne Andrade, executive director of the Solar and Energy Loan Fund; and Jana Barresi, head of the Washington, D.C., office of the Lowe’s Companies Inc.
