WASHINGTON — Two energy-related House committees will hold a joint hearing next week on supply chain issues related to the transition to a clean energy economy.

The House Energy subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., and the Environment and Climate Change subcommittee, chaired by Paul Tonko, D-N.Y., have scheduled the session for Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 10:30 a.m.

The meeting, entitled “Securing America’s Future: Supply Chain Solutions for a Clean Energy Economy,” will be held in the John D. Dingell room of the Rayburn House Office Building.

In a joint statement for which they were joined by Rep. Frank Pallone Jr., D-N.J., chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Rush and Tonko said that “as the global transition to clean energy accelerates, it is imperative for our country to not only keep pace, but to develop the ability to produce the technologies needed for a net zero economy here at home.”

“Congress has an important role to play in understanding this challenge and identifying new opportunities to develop and expand our domestic clean energy supply chains,” the chairman continued. “In doing so, we can both revitalize American manufacturing and reduce our dependence on foreign countries. We look forward to discussing these issues with our panel of experts next week.”

This will be a hybrid hearing that includes both in-person and remote member attendance via Cisco Webex video conferencing.

Members of the public may view the hearing via live webcast accessible on the Energy and Commerce Committee’s website.
