Inquiry Into Jan. 6 Riot to Begin With Police Testimony
The select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the United States Capitol will hold its first hearing on July 27 at 9:30 a.m.
The panel, which is chaired by Rep. Bennie G. Thompson, D-Miss., will first hear testimony from police officers who defended the Capitol complex during an afternoon-long siege by a pro-Trump mob attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
The much-anticipated public hearing is being held in the Committee on Homeland Security Hearing Room in the Cannon House Office Building.
