About Leger Fernandez:

After receiving her B.A. from Yale University and J.D. from Stanford, Leger Fernandez returned home to New Mexico.

She has promised to honor voters with deep respect and will use her experience and vision to accomplish ambitious goals and create a strong, sustainable future for New Mexico and the nation.

Leger Fernandez served on the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation. She was appointed by President Obama and she advised the president and Congress on cultural and historic preservation policy.

She was a White House Fellow appointed by President Clinton to one of the nation’s most prestigious leadership and public service programs.

She worked for 30 years at Leger Law and Strategy, LLC, as counsel for tribes and their business entities, as well as with community leaders on affordable housing, Hispanic civil rights and community development. 

Over the past year, she has met many of you, listened to you and engaged in a dialogue about what must be accomplished together. Now is the time!
