About Hicks:

Josh Hicks grew up on a farm in Hilltop, Fleming County, Ky. Hicks went to Georgetown College right out of high school. Hicks made the decision to drop out of college. He went to work construction with his dad as an iron worker and a rigger.

After about a year, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. In the Marine Corps, Hicks completed two deployments with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and after his honorable discharge, he decided to move his wife and young daughter back to Kentucky.

Hicks went to work at the Maysville Police Department, spending five years as a patrol officer in Maysville. He was on the district’s emergency response team and was also certified to train new police officers straight out of the academy.

Hicks returned to college for night classes. After three years at Morehead, Hicks graduated with honors. Later, he attended  and graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
