PROFILE
About Schupp:
Schupp grew up in University City. A former Marine, her father worked six days a week at a junkyard he started at age 19 with his father in East St. Louis, before becoming a car salesman at Weber Chevrolet in Creve Coeur. Her mom worked as an audiologist in the local schools and doctors’ offices.
She and her siblings were among the first in her family to graduate college. After attending the University of Missouri, she worked in public schools in California, then as a teacher’s aide in the Parkway School District and later taught elementary school in Normandy. She went on to join an advertising agency where she built a nearly two-decade long career.
While her sons Brandon and Alex were in school, she became co-president of the Parents’ Association. She ran for school board and won.
After election to the City Council, she was encouraged to run for the state legislature and won the seat to represent the 82nd District in the Missouri House of Representatives. Early on in her first term as state representative, she proved herself as someone who works across the aisle to find common ground and get things done.
She brought this spirit of working across the aisle to the Missouri State Senate when she was elected to represent District 24 in 2014.
