Four Female Journalists Will Moderate Next Democratic Debate
WASHINGTON – Four women journalists will moderate the next Democratic presidential candidate debate, MSNBC announced Wednesday.
Rachel Maddow, host of “The Rachel Maddow Show”; Andrea Mitchell, host of “Andrea Mitchell Reports”; Kristen Welker, the NBC News White House correspondent; and Ashley Parker, a Washington Post White House reporter, will moderate the event which is scheduled to be broadcast November 20.
Few other details about the upcoming debate have been announced. It is expected to be somewhat smaller than previous debates as fewer candidates qualify to participate. Only eight candidates have qualified for the debate stage so far, according to an unofficial NBC News tally.
The most recent Democratic debate, on CNN, featured 12 candidates.
MSNBC said on Twitter that its broadcast will also air live via Radio One and stream on MSNBC.com and the Washington Post’s website, as well as across mobile devices via NBC News and the Post’s mobile apps and Urban One’s digital platforms.
The city, venue and format will be announced at a later date, according to MSNBC.
