CA-30: Laura Friedman (D)

Laura Friedman is running to succeed Congressmember Adam Schiff in California’s 30th Congressional District. Friedman has an extraordinary record of progressive leadership as a State assemblymember, Glendale City council member, mayor, community activist and in the private sector.
Friedman has spent her career as a bold and effective legislator. Some of her legislative victories and efforts include: Landmark measures to combat climate change, including new water efficiency standards, reducing the use of rodenticides, banning toxic PFAS chemicals, putting California on the path to ban single use plastics, and phasing out fossil fuels in new residential buildings; leading cultural and procedural changes that shifted how the legislature handles allegations of sexual harassment and retaliation in the Capitol; and increasing funding for active transportation and mass transit
