Alexis Martinez Johnson was born in Roswell, New Mexico, and was raised by her grandparents.
Johnson traces her ancestry back to Otis, in Eddy County. Her grandfather was a career man at the Parks and Recreation Department in Roswell, while her grandmother retired later in her career as custodial staff.
Johnson appreciates the time she spent on her family’s farm and is passionate about supporting the agricultural industry of New Mexico. She will protect rural farmers along the Rio Grande and Pecos Rivers, support generational farming, limit federal interference in business and promote environmental stewardship programs.
Johnson opposes defunding the police and believes supporting law enforcement is critical for the crime rate to diminish. She says she will defend school choice, allowing parents to choose what style fits their children’s educational needs. She will keepCritical Race Theory out of the curriculum.
