The Brat Pack is Back in FL-7!
Get out the slap bracelets, pop rocks and turn on “Pretty in Pink”…the 80’s are back! Or at least they seem to be for Florida State Rep. Mike Miller. Miller, who is challenging incumbent Rep. Stephanie Murphy in Florida’s 7th Congressional District, threw his support behind Andrew McCarthy for Speaker during a debate this week. When asked who he would support for Speaker, Miller said “I actually would vote for the Republican leader. I would vote for Andrew McCarthy, who Paul Ryan has said would be a wonderful speaker and would keep us on the exact thing we talked about – less taxes, less regulation and more economic freedom. So I would stick with my caucus and vote for Andrew McCarthy.”
To which Murphy responded, “You may want to recognize that his name is Kevin McCarthy.”
Miller’s reaction? “What’d I say, Andrew? Oh, he’s the actor!”
